BANYAN ANNOUNCES TEN PREMIER RESELLERS
WESTBORO, Mass., June 17, 1991 -- Banyan Systems today announced
the first ten Banyan channel partners that have met the criteria to
become Banyan Premier Resellers. Banyan Premier Resellers are the
highest class of channel partners, proficient and committed to
servicing Banyan end users.
The new Banyan Premier Resellers include:
- Alliance INFONET/ValCom, Costa Mesa, CA
- Antares Electronics Inc., Nepean, Ontario, Canada
- Connolly Data Systems/CTG, Lowell, MA
- Data Systems Network Corporation, Farmington Hills, MI
- Electronic Systems, Richmond, VA
- Frederick Computers Plus, Frederick, MD
- iLan, Inc., Columbus, OH
- Information Decisions Inc., East Lansing, MI
- International Micronet, San Francisco, CA
- Network Management Inc., Fairfax, VA
Banyan developed the Premier Reseller Program to recognize a
distinguished group of channel partners who demonstrate a high
commitment to multi-vendor-based VINES integration and support
service. These channel partners are acknowledged for their
proficiency in selling and servicing Banyan VINES networks to
sophisticated Fortune 1000 companies. By offering the highest
level of sales and service, premier resellers gain the opportunity
to differentiate themselves in the marketplace.
The program also enables end users to identify those resellers who
have provided exemplary support for customers before, during, and
after the sale. "The program assures customers that their reseller
meets the requirements to support their enterprise-wide networking
solutions," said Edward Cooper, Banyan Director, Channel Marketing.
"We believe it's important to let the industry know which channel
partners are providing stellar service to the end user."
Benefits to the Banyan Premier Resellers include:
- Reimbursement for business development expenditures made to
enhance the channel partners sales, marketing, and technical
training capabilities
- Unlimited free access to Banyan Enhanced Support Service
(telephone technical support, 24 hours per day, 7 days per
week)
- Exclusive participation in programs jointly developed by
Banyan and its strategic partners
- Pre-qualified sales leads
Resellers must meet a rigid set of criteria to obtain status as a
Banyan Premier Reseller.
Each channel partner who has been an authorized Banyan Reseller for
at least six months is eligible for the program. Additional
selection criteria include:
- Employment of a minimum of two full-time Certified Banyan
Engineers
- Ability to demonstrate the Banyan product line at each
accredited selling location
- Assignment of a dedicated Banyan Product Manager
- Successful completion of a series of advanced technical
education courses
- Establishment of ongoing training for all representatives in
the sale, use, and demonstration of Banyan products
- Centralized support capability with call tracking system and
on-line VINES server access
- 24-hour assistance service to end users
- Maintenance of a rigid customer satisfaction program
